In 2005, a group of entrepreneurial and ambitious engineers in China began to develop a production line for spray-formed (SF) steel, and in 2008 the SF line was set up as the largest operational one in the world. By that time it had also proven to be  both commercially and technically successful, with breakthroughs in the domestic Chinese and the international market. A couple of years later, the production line  moved to an independent business unit, and the key technical and executive personnel established SF Metals Limited (SFM in short). The focus of the company is now on R&D， and supplying commercial applications of spray-formed steels and other metals.

      Currently, SFM is mainly engaged in R&D, engineering and sales, and has a network of about 30 selected manufacturing partners ranging from steel making to machine building, tooling, heat treatment, machining and metal processing techniques such as forging, rolling and extrusion. This network enables SFM to flexibly use best available technologies for each customer order and product.

       SFM is located in the Pearl River Delta Region, the most developed area in China with comprehensive and strong industrial infrastructures. It is just in the neighborhood of Hong Kong, a convenient international logistics hub.
